In 2015, metal detectorist James Mather discovered an important Viking Hoard near Watlington. Now in the care of the Ashmolean Museum, this amazing archaeological find includes rare coins, silver ingots and arm rings buried in around 870AD.
There will be a free public lecture about the Hoard, in Watlington Town Hall on 23 September. 1330-1430
In addition, the lecture comprises one element of drop in event at Watlington Library on Saturday 23 September, 1400-1630. Join us to find out more about this exciting archaeological discovery.
