Dorchester on thames womens institute

We are part of the National Federation of Women’s Institutes, the largest voluntary organisation for women in the UK, with 205,000 members.

Aims and Objectives:

WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.? Women of any age from 18 onwards can join the WI for friendship, enjoying trips to the theatre, river trips, interesting talks and visits to places both inside and outside Oxfordshire, arranged to appeal to as wide a cross section of members as possible. Our residential college near Abingdon runs many courses to help us to develop our interests and make new friends. It is all part of the WI ethos, which is to offer opportunities for enjoyable learning for life.

We meet every second Thursday in the month, generally in the Village Hall at 7.30pm in the back room. Details about the meetings are displayed on the village notice boards and in Dorchester News.
