Recommend a route

Got a route you would like us to try, please do send it across, and we will try and have a look, and maybe even add it onto our site.

using plotaroute.com

We have been using plotaroute.com for some of our walks, as it gives some really useful features which will hoefully help you use the route in a way that suits you best. There is the ability to download the routes to your Garmin, or just print them off. We would recommend just printing the map out though, but setting it to show paths, and also our directions as well.

There are also other routes we have mapped, but not yet tried out, so if you would like to have a look, please take a look on our plotaroute profile page

The Countryside Code

Listing all the items in the countryside code is not possible, as they may change, but below is correct as of April 2017.  Any changes to the below items will likely still align with the spirit of what is below:

For visitors

  1. Leave no trace of your visit and take your litter home
  2. Keep dogs under effective control
  3. Plan ahead and be prepared
  4. Follow advice and local signs
  5. Consider the local community and other people enjoying the outdoors
  6. leave gates and property as you find them and follow paths unless wider access is available

For land managers

  1. Know your rights, responsibilities, and liabilities
  2. Make it easy for visitors to act responsibly
  3. Identify possible threats to visitors’ safety
