On Foot

Dorchester on Thames lies approximately half-a-mile north-east of Day’s Lock

where the Thames Path switches from the east bank to the west bank of the river.

To reach Dorchester, follow the signed path across the field to a gate on the far side.

Pass through the gate and continue along a path with hedges on both sides to the

end of the hedges. Turn right and keeping the Dyke Hills (Iron Age earthworks) on

your right, continue to the end of the Dyke Hills. Turn left along the footpath which leads

into Wittenham Lane. At the junction of Wittenham Lane with Watling Lane, turn right

and then left by the St.Birinus R.C. Church into Bridge End and hence to the centre

of the village.
