Bus Services
Thames Travel buses run through or close to the village.
Service 105/106; Wallingford to Oxford, although for much of the day this requires use of
Service 138; Wallingford to Berinsfield and a change of buses at Berinsfield roundabout.
Service X15; Wallingford/Abingdon/Witney.
Service X39; Wallingford to Oxford runs via the by-pass.
Service 107; Didcot/Berinsfield/Oxford runs a non-stop service to Oxford for those able to
walk to the Berinsfield roundabout.

Post boxes are located at the Post Office, on Abingdon Road (opposite No.8 and outside
No. 83), at Bridge End and at Meadside.


Kerbside collections of household refuse are made on Fridays, except for Bank Holiday
weeks when other variable arrangements apply.
Green boxes for the recycling of paper, card, cans and plastic bottles and packaging are
also emptied on Fridays. These boxes are available from the SODC Council offices at Crowmarsh,

Please telephone in advance if you require a first box, an additional one or a replacement.
Delivery will be arranged if necessary.
Garden Refuse may be put out for kerbside collection in special green refuse sacks
obtainable from Sue Graney, 11 The Limes, (please telephone in advance 340362).
These bags are priced at 65 pence each by the District Council to recover some of the
cost of the service.
All forms of household and garden refuse may be taken to the Oakley Wood Waste Reception
and Recycling Centre. This is in Old Icknield Way, off the A4130 road to Henley.
The Centre is open every day from 08.30 to 16.30.

There is one public telephone box in the village, situated at the start of Bridge End at the
village end of Dorchester Bridge.

Callers will be asked for the address of the site and the nature of the fault.
It is helpful (but not essential) if you can also quote the lights unique reference number
which is written in black on a white background about 2 metres off the ground.
